Plant Description: Plant: Woody-based herbaceous perennial, with pubescent stems, between 30 cm and 100 cm tall.
Leaves: Elliptical to ovate, acute, from 1 cm to 6 cm long; green, turning red.
Flowers: 4 mm to 5 mm long, purplish-pink, in long, lax spikes. Each flower has three spiny bracts. |
