Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Sporobolus centrifugus - Densely tufted perennial, 1—1,3 m high. Inflorescence up to 25 cm long, conspicuously dark grey-green; branches more or less spreading, lower branches in whorls. Spikelets numerous, tending to be borne on lower side of each branch.
