Comments: Occurs in the middleveld, lowveld and Lubombo regions, absent from the highveld. Previously unrecorded, except for photograph in Passmore and Carruthers (1979). Currently five localities recorded. Found sympatrically with H. tuberilinguis over much of its (R.C. Boycott, 1992)
