Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Pycreus sp. - Sturdy tufted plant with erect flat long-pointed leaves c 3—4 mm wide. Stem pale with c four unequal leaf-like bracts, longest sometimes 25 cm long, below inflorescence which is large but rather shortly-branched. Spikelets borne in radiating cluster, reddish-brown, up to 15 mm long x 4 mm wide; glumes blunt with narrow light coloured membranous edges.

Notes:
Global distribution information: southern Africa includes southern Mozambique and southern Zimbabwe.
