Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Fimbristylis ovata - Tufted, 30 cm high or less. Leaves few, narrow. Stems erect. Inflorescence of single pale brown spikelet, c 1 cm long x 4 mm wide; glumes with prominent midrib prolonged as a sharp point, shortly downy.
