Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Xyris capensis - Dwarf, growing in dense clumps, usually c 15 cm high. Leaves basal, half height of stem or less. Inflorescence with very few bracts, c 4 mm long x 3 mm wide (excluding corollas), rather blunt at tip.
