Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Trachyandra saltii - Grasslike, up to 50 cm high. Rootstock vertical. Leaves of several lengths, up to 50 cm long, hairless or with mixed long straight and short curly hairs, base tubular, membranous. Inflorescences often two or more on same plant, unbranched, leaning outwards at base, then erect, many-flowered, up to 40 cm long. Flower stalk up to 1,5 cm long. Perianth segments c 1 cm long. Fruit spherical, narrowing to base, c 5 mm diam, hairless; seeds smooth, grey.
