Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Ammocharis coranica - Bulb spherical. Leaves 6—S in two rows, lying flat on ground, turned to one side or other, growing continuously from base and withering at tips, c 4 cm wide. inflorescence axis rather short, often curved, with umbel of 10—20 flowers, scented, stalks up to c 3 cm long, erect-spreading, maturing all together. Perianth tube c 1,5 cm long, slender, straight, segments dull red or pink, c 5 cm long x 6 mm wide. Anthers horseshoe-shaped, attached at middle. Fruit-wall membranous, seed-coat fleshy.
