Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Piper capense - Small soft tree or straggling shrub. Leaves hairless in opposite pairs; stalk 1—2 cm long; blade slightly heart-shaped or square at base, broadly oval, tapering to narrow point, with 5—7 principal veins diverging from point of attachment of stalk, paler underneath, up to 10 cm long x 6 cm wide. Inflorescence a white catkin up to 6 cm long by 5 mm diam. Flowers small and numerous, densely borne, stalkless; ovary spherical, with two spreading stigmas.
