Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Thesium utile - Tall, up to 1 m high, rigid, copiously erectly branched, broomlike, somewhat greyish; main stem up to 5 mm diam. Leaves relatively few and small. Flowers singly in upper axils on very short stalks, c 2 mm long. Fruits oval, 5 mm long, almost ribless, tipped with dried perianth.

Notes:
Global distribution information: southern Africa includes southern Mozambique and southern Zimbabwe.
