Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Maerua angolensis - Shrub or tree up to 10 m high, all vegetative parts hairless. Leaves simple, stalk slender, up to 2 cm long, blade narrowly or broadly oval, tapering shortly to stalk, tip blunt or notched with minute point, up to 5 cm long X 3 cm wide. Flowers often copious, mostly lateral. Sepals c 2 cm long, base funnel-shaped, lobes with horny edges. Stamens very numerous, filaments white, up to 4 cm long, conspicuous, anthers minute. Ovary elongated, on stalk c 4 cm long. Fruit up to 8 cm long, cylindrical, constricted between seeds.
