Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Encephalartos vilosus - “Stemless”. Leaves usually longer than in E. umbeluziensis; leaflets with more marginal teeth, basal reduced to spiny vestiges. Both male and female cones unusually long and slender.
