Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Tephrosia elongata - Erect perennial up to 50 cm high with comparatively fcw large leaves scattered along stiff smooth stems which terminate in inflorescences. Stems and leaves downy with short spreading hairs. Leaf-stalk very short; leaflets one or two pairs and terminal, occasionally single, narrow lance-shaped, up to 15 cm long x I ~5 cm wide, often less, midrib prominent below, lateral veins numerous set at acute angle, tip narrowing to fine point, stipules insignificant. Inflorescence up to 30 cm long, flowers few, well separated singly and in pairs, mostly towards tip. Calyx c 6 mm long, lobes broadly triangular, shaggy. Corolla orange, yellow or salmon, c 1,5 cm long, back of standard downy. Pod flat, straight, hairy. c 6 cm long x 4 mm wide.
