Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Sphenostylis marginata - Woody, branches occasionally twining round supports, very slightly hairy. Leaves relatively few and large, stalk up to 7 cm long; terminal leaflet with stalk up to 4 cm long, blade up to 11 cm long x 4 cm wide, usually less and relatively narrower. Flowers several in short raceme at end of tall erect stalk up to 30 cm long. Calyx c 5 mm long, widely open, lobes very broad and short. Corolla c 2 cm long, hairless, pink, magenta, purple or mauve.
