Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Hermannia boraginiflora - Erect twiggy shrublet, up to 60 cm high; stalked or stalkless glands and star-like and simple hairs present throughout; sometimes sticky. Leaf-stalk c 5 mm long; blade oblong, faintly toothed, up to 2 cm long X 6 mm wide, usually less. Flowers solitary on axillary stalk, c 1 cm long, lengthening a little in fruit; calyx segments c 6 mm long, tapering to slender tip; petals scarcely as long, white, dull mauve or pink. Fruit dry, ribbed, bristly, each carpel ending in horn-like tip.
