Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Englerodaphne pilosa - Leafy small tree with long hairs on stems and leaf-blades. Leaves opposite, flat, almost stalkless, pointed, up to 7,5 cm long X 2,5 cm wide; lateral branches arise a little above leaf-axils. Inflorescence a head or spike, 3—5-flowered, stalkless, with pair of small bracts below. Calyx lobes four; petals eight almost as long as calyx lobes; stamens eight in two rings, upper four at mouth of calyx tube, filaments very short; ovary one-chambered with one ovule, with long hairs on upper part; style arises laterally on ovary.
