Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Alepidea setifera - Erect, up to 50 cm high. Leaves mostly in basal rosette; stalk up to 10 cm long, usually much less; blade oval, c 6 cm long x 2,5 cm wide, blunt, occasionally heart-shaped at base, not prominently toothed, fringed with numerous long bristles. Stem closely clothed with numerous overlapping narrow pointed stalkless leaves, almost uniform in size from top to bottom, fringed with long bristles. Inflorescence usually compact; flower-heads c 1,5 cm diam, bracts c 1 mm wide.
