Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Erica barbertona - Slender, usually unbranched stems seldom reaching 30 cm high, rising from a hard woody base. Leaves in rings of four (sometimes five), C 3 mm long, wit few short bristles. Flowers in small terminal or lateral clusters near top of stem. Calyx c 3 mm long, shortly bristly with some gland-tipped hairs. Corolla broadly tubular, pink or orange-red, up to 1,5 cm long, lobes spreading, more or less hairy. Anthers without appendages.
