Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Solanum coccineum - Straggling shrublet, stems bent; grey-velvety throughout, with few or many short straight prickles on stem and calyx. Leaf-stalk c 1,5 cm long; blade deeply and irregularly cut into broad blunt lobes with rounded spaces between, up to 5 cm long x 3 cm wide. Flowers very small in few-flowered lateral groups. Fruits two or three in cluster, spherical, scarlet, shiny, c 1 cm diam.
