Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Tricalysia lanceolata - Small tree up to 5 m high, hairless throughout. Leaf-stalk c 5 mm long; blade lance-shaped, broadest just below middle, blunt, up to 6 cm long x 2 cm wide. Inflorescences axillary, bracts joined to form funnel-shaped shortly toothed sheath. Calyx 2 mm long, lobed to half way; corolla white, tube broadly cylindrical, c 5 mm long, lobes oval, turned backwards, c 5 mm long; stamens protruding, anthers attached near base, with appendage c 1 mm long at tip; stigma protruding, shortly 2-lobed. Fruit black, c 5 mm diam.
