Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Berkheya bipinnatifida - Up to 2 m high, copiously leafy. Stems white-felted. Leaves deeply and repeatedly lobed, margins ending in irregular triangular teeth tipped by long sharp spines, upper surface dark, slightly rough, lower closely white-felted, up to c 20 cm long x 10 cm wide. Flower-heads numerous, short-stalked in terminal clusters, c 1 cm diam; involucral bracts spiny; ray-florets absent; disc-florets mauve or whitish.
