Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Monocymbium ceresiiforme - Plant 30—60 cm high. Leaf blades seldom more than 15 cm long, tapering to fine points, becoming reddish with age. Spathes widely separated, boat-shaped, russet coloured, each containing one raceme. Spikelets densely silky-hairy, awns hairless.
