Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Loudetia densispica - Densely tufted with numerous very straight rigid few-leaved stems up to 1 m high. Inflorescence dense, spike-like, branches very short and erect. Spikelets light brown, slender, up to 15 mm long; lower glume with two rows of stiff white hairs arising from dark tubercles; lemma of upper floret ending in twisted awn about 2,5 cm long.
