Description (Compton's Flora of Swaziland*):
Koeleria cristata - Tufted perennial, usually c 60 cm high, but very variable. Leaves usually rolled, wiry, hairless. Inflorescence dense, spike-like, cylindrical, often interrupted towards base, up to 15 cm long, usually less; spikelets pale or tinted, shining, up to c 6 mm long, glumes exceeding lower florets; glumes and lemmas tapering to sharp points, not awned.
