Distribution: Coastal lowlands in north of Eastern Cape, KwaZulu Natal and south of Kruger National
Park.
Body Length: 58-59 mm
Hind Wing Length: 37.5-38 mm
Habitat: Pools and dams in or near woodland or forest.
Flight Period: Nov-Apr
Features: Large, slender, mottled brownish, with slightly smoky wings and small, broken, blue saddle. Flies at dusk, resting low in dense vegetation by day along East coast.
Comments: Possible occurrence in Eswatini based on UCT-ADU OdonataMAP records adjacent to Swaziland.
