SiSwati names and uses, arranged by alphabetically by botanical name:

Protorhus
   longifolia    (Red Beech )  imfuce,  ndiyaza,  umhlangothi,  umhlangoti,  umkhamamasi,
      Cultural: Lightning conductor.
      Household: Furniture. Sticky gum used as adhesive.
      Medicinal: Bark gum as a depilatory. Bark for chest pains.
      Food: Boiled leaves are a famine food in Mozambique.
Putterlickia
   verrucosa    (False Forest Spike-thorn)  mhlatjwa,
      Medicinal: Medicinal plant
Pterocelastrus   sehlulamanye,
   echinatus    (White Candlewood)  incocodzi,  lishasha,
      Medicinal: Heavily used medicinally in Transkei. Roots &bark are analgesic.
   rostratus   
      Medicinal: Medicinal bark used with other substances for spinal problems.
   tricuspidatus   
      Dyes: Bark is rich in tannic acid. Was once used for tanning purposes.
      Firewood: Fuelwood. Produces much heat.
      Medicinal: Bark used medicinally.
Pleurostylia
   capensis    (Mountain Hard pear)  umtfunyelelwa,
      Household: Wagon construction
Pyrenacantha
   grandiflora    (Firethorn)  sehlulamanya,  velabahleke,
      Cultural: Roots and leaves make a good luck charm. Acquistion of metaphysical powers.
      Medicinal: Emetic for luck. Medicinal for herpes
   kaurabassana     velabahleke,
      Medicinal: Medicinal for herpes.
Pappea
   capensis    (Jacket Plum)  lilatsa,  umkhunu,
      Timber: Hard, tough useful wood.
      Cultural: Roots used by sangomas as good luck charm to increase business.
      Fodder: Leaves valuable for browsing by stock or game.
      Firewood: Firewood
      Household: Seeds yield a heavy oil. Used for soap and lubrication.
      Medicinal: Seeds, leaves, roots & bark for baldness & venereal disease.
      Food: Edible fruit. Can be used for jelly, alcoholic beverage & vinegar.
Phylica
   paniculata    (Common Hard-leaf)  umdidi,
Pavonia
   burchellii    (Dainty Pavonia)  indola empofu,
Passiflora   liganandela,  emagandela,
   edulis *   
      Food: Edible fruit turning from green to purple when ripe.
   subpeltata *   
      Food: Edible fruit.
Peddiea
   africana    (Green Flower Tree)  intfocwane,
      Household: Bark fibre for ropes.
      Medicinal: Used in traditional medicine but is also poisonous.
