Cichlidae (Cichlids)
(Nembwe)
Exotic
Status: Rare but concievably spreading
Introduced into Swaziland at two locations, Mhlume and the Sand River Dam in the late 1970s and recorded from there in 1981 (Skelton pers. comm.). Current investigations indicate that the species may have spread from there as specimens have been taken from the Siphiso river in the Mlawula reserve. Collected from Sand River Dam during the 2002-2003 survey.
