  • The Siphiso valley is good for viewing herds of wildebeest, zebra and impala. The distribution of game changes according to season, water points and burning.
  • Mbuluzi gorge is accessible by car and offers attractive river scenery with interesting plant and bird-life, fishing spots and crocodiles.
  • Mahlabashana gorge can be reached by foot from the Mbuluzi valley road. Rare plants, cycads, Lubombo ironwood forests and uncommon birds are a feature of this gorge.
  • Python pool is scoured out of a spectacular rocky gorge and is swimable during rainy summers. Look out for klipspringer, large Pythons and some interesting Lizards as well as uncommon plants. Hyena pool is a small dam on the southern end of Siphiso river valley.
  • The impressive Khabane cave is reached after a stiff climb, which is rewarded by views over Mlawula. Look out for owls, mocking chats and the endemic Swazi euphorbia.
  • Mlawula is an excellent birding spot, with over 350 species of birds have been recorded in Mlawula, including raptors such as the Martial Eagle and Bateleur, 5 Vulture species and a number of rarities such as the Narina Trogon, Pinkthroughted Twinspot, African Broadbill and African Finfoot.
