SWAZILAND'S BIODIVERSITY: Swaziland's Fishes Checklists

Information from "An Annotated Checklist of the Freshwater Fishes of Swaziland", E.J. Hyslop, 1994, updated with information from Richard Boycott, 2006, incorporating information from the 2002-2003 fishes survey.

Swaziland's Fishes Checklist


Tilapia rendalli  Gilchrist and Thompson, 1917

   Cichlidae (Cichlids)
   (Southern Red breasted Tilapia)
Status: Uncommon
Recorded by Clay (1976) from the Usutu and Ngwavuma systems. Current observations indicate that the species is found in the Komati and Mbuluzi systems, mainly in the lowveld.
