Croton steenkampianus    (Marsh Feverberry)  mhuluka,  mnyakeni,  mwuluka,
     Bark used as emetic & for chest ailments. Steamed leaves releave aches.
Croton sylvaticus    (Forest Feverberry)  nyakeni,
     Leaf poultice for pleurisy. Bark for rheumatism. Poisonous.
Cryptocarya woodii    (Cape Quince)  mthongwane,  umcatsane,  umncabe,  umtfomgwane,  umtfongwana,
     Bark used in traditional medicine.
Ctenomeria capensis     imbabatane,
     Bark used as emetic.
Cucumis africanus    (Bitter Wild Cucumber)
     Medicinal. An enema & purgative but also poisonous.
Cucumis hirsutus    (Wild Cucumber)
     Coughs and as purgative
Cucumis metuliferus    (Jelly Melon)
     Medicinal
     Medicinal.

     Bark is medicinal and widely used. Spp. has 8 different Zulu names.
Cussonia natalensis    (Simple-leaved Cabbage Tree)  imphikayiboni,  msenge,  umbudzi,  umsenge,
     Medicinal. An emetic
Cussonia nicholsonii    (South Coast Cabbage Tree)  umsenge,
     Medicinal. An emetic
Cussonia paniculata subsp. sinuata    (Mountain Cabbage Tree)  umsenge,
     Emetic. Leaves for mental problems
Cussonia sphaerocephala    (Forest Cabbage Tree)  umsenge,
     Medicinal. An emetic
Cussonia spicata    (Cabbage Tree)  umsenge,  umtsentse,
     Roots & bark as emetic & malaria. Roots for vomit. Leaves medicinal.
Cussonia zuluensis    (Zulu Cabbage Tree)  umsenge,
     Emetic
Cyanotis speciosa    (Doll's Powder Puff)  ingonga,  inkombo,  insonga,  udabulamafu,  umakotigoyile,
     Roots for menstrual cramps & infertility.
Cyanthillium cinereum var. cinereum *   (Bitter Leaf)
     Medicinal
Cyathea capensis    (Forest Tree Fern)  impimpiliza,  inkhomankhoma,  umkhomo,
     Medicinal
Cyathea dregei    (Grassland Tree Fern)  impimpiliza,  inkhomankhoma,
     Zulus use in a tonic taken in pregnancy to ensure easy birth. Also roots for toothache. An anthelmintic.
